AJ - Thank you for announcing the warm-up and agenda in class today! Thank you class for being on task, working diligently and being patient! Have a safe long weekend! :) Homework: 1. Annotate "The Fall of the House of Usher" in your workbook by highlighting/underlining the elements of lit. on your C-notes. Also, add questions and comments you have. We can add to this after our class discussion next Tuesday. 2. Do workbook page 31 (1-5) comprehension questions. 3. Read your Independent Reading Book Your Book Review will be due October 17th. I will have hard copies next class period, if needed. You may type this and submit early or submit by the deadline. Agenda: 1. Do Independent Reading - Answer questions   #3 and #4 in class or at home. Bring your workbook to class daily for participation. Be patient for grade updates as tonight is Back to School Night and I was out yesterday with a sub. Homework: 1. Bring your Independent Reading Book to class to read next class period for your warm-up. Finish questions #1 and #2 if you did not already. 2. Read the rest of page 16 through page 19 for your homework. "The Fall of the House of Usher" found in your workbook. Do the close reading on pages 14, 17 and 19 in your workbook. Be sure to annotate these pages also. Due today: Independent Reading signature sheet. (Bring your Vocabulary sheet to class next class period to be checked at the start of class.) Plot Map "The Raven" page 940 in the green textbook (Collaborate with your section and share out with the class.) Fill any missing parts of your plot map. Be sure to have a minimum of 3 rising and 3 falling action events. 3. Finish your poem, if needed and start homework. E-mail me if you need the class code to add Google classroom.

Turtorial (Monday, August 28th, 2017)

Good afternoon! I will be attending a meeting on campus at 8 a.m. and not here for tutorial on Monday, August 28th. Since I do not teach period 4 I will be offering brunch help on Monday, August 28th. (I can take a brunch break after I do brunch help.) I will not be offering lunch help on Monday, August 28th. I need a break at lunch. :)

I recommend that you bring pencil next class period for the pre assessment. Agenda   1. Introductions (Seats) 2. Note cards - Fill out and share out. See directions on the power point. Also, prepare questions that you can as me or a classmate. 3. Letter Home (What are the essential questions? What are the prompts?) 4. Log into Pearson (Scavenger Hunt - Find the location of items on the website.)
