Homework: Review class expectations. I expect you to participate by working all period and asking me permission to use the restroom.

 The following workbook pages are due on Monday along with your paragraph final copy from page 48 (compare and contrast prompt):

page 4, 12, 44, 45 and 47

Re-takes for Ds and Fs for "The Fall of the House of Usher" will be at lunch on Monday, September 28th (Please allow ten minutes after class starts to start the re-take. You may bring you lunch to each since it is lunch time.)

 Due today: 
  • DOK 3 questions for practice (Usher and listening) Show me next class if you didn't this class.
  • Evaluation of grammar Read it #1 and #2.
  • Analyze both paragraphs. 
  • What do you notice? How has the mood/plot/intent changed?
  • page 55 (1-4) if completed in class
  • page 48 brainstorm for the compare and contrast paragraph (You will finish this next class and share out for the paragraph.)

Final Exam Reminders

Please come to the final exam on time and be ready to participate during the entire final exam time. (You must remain in class seated until the bell rings.) I recommend that you bring a pencil and eraser to your English Final exam. No personal cell phones or personal electronics may be used until every student has finished the final exam. School Chrome books may only be used for Part B (Unit 4 Essay). If you finish early you may work on an independent quiet activity. (Remember that finals are being taken next door and near our classroom that may last all period. Students may be working in your class all period so plan ahead.) Please return your novel, Lord of the Flies or Night,  during library hours or with another final exam appointment. (We already had our return appointment and will not be leaving the classroom during the final exam.)
